St. Tropez in Autumn without the crowds

Autumn is my favourite time of year down here in the South of France. The crowds have gone home and St. Tropez returns to the quiet sleepy village that it originally was. The sun is low in the sky and casts shadows along the still cobbled strteets. magic!

Au Revoir till next Spring.

See you in Paris

Looks lovely, I would love to see the south of France without the crowds – and right now would be good!

It’s perfect at this time of year, I find it scary in August.

I grew up in a tourist town. Among locals, there is a sigh when the crowds leave but also a whiff of melancholy. Your second-last photo captures that mood.

Yes I did feel a sense of nostalgia as I walked down the quiet streets, then I often do at the end of a long and enjoyable summer.
