Hi Josephine, what colours would you recommend for a capsule wardrobe, I have grey hair..
Personally I like to base my wardrobe around grey and navy as my neutrals with colour accents of blue, soft red and pink. I have cool colouring. Without a photo it would be difficult for me to advice definitively.
If I wear black I make sure I have a flattering colour near my face or a statement necklace.
I wish I knew the answer to this question. I have spent a very exhausting morning trying on jeans. I tried Hobbs, very comfortable but the 12 waist was too big and the 10 too small. The &OtherStories their jeans did not have enough stretch for me. I have been recommended Uniqlo so will give them a go when I am back in London from my upcoming trip to France. The don’t seem to make my favourite style of NYDJ jeans any more.
Hi Josephine, I was very interested to read your post about John Gustafson. I visited him some years ago and was thrilled with his advice. Reading your post (although I know it was written a couple of years ago) has inspired me to see him again – but, horror of horrors, he seems to have left Fenwicks! Do you have any idea where he now is? Or, if he has retired, have you come across anyone as good as him? I do hope you can help, and thanks for your wonderful website and advice. Kind regards, Penny Fairley
This is indeed very bad news.
He did my daughter’s wedding make-up and mine as mother of the bride and then as mother of they groom. I love him he is so talented and such a character. I was looking forward to treating myself to another session in a few years time.
I have googled but not much something on LinkedIn.
I will keep trying. If anybody knows where John has gone do let us know.
Hi ! I loved your leather jacket from the photoshoot on Instagram yesterday . Not too short and nice detailing . Where is it from ?
Thanks for your inquiry. The jacket I am wearing on Instagram is by MeandEm. It is in the sale and there are still a few left. Here is the linkLeather jacket
So happy to have found you,via Fabulous make up. You give me hope. I’m 79 and feel scruffy and fat! I just live in old clothes, partly as I dog walk, garden and clean my bantams coop! So no need to dress up!
Hi, Jenny Welcome to my blog. I understand old clothes for your lifestyle. I still think it is good to have a couple of outfits that you feel good in. Even if it just for doing the grocery shopping.
How do I receive your blog? I have been all over your site and cannot find any details. Thank you. Chris Martin
Hi Chris Martin
I have added your name to the list. You should get a confirmation email. At the moment you have to click on one of the “read more” buttons to subscribe. I intend to add a popup subscription form this week on the home page to make it easier.
I saw you on the Look Fabulous Forever website talking to Tricia Cusden and now I am joining your blog. I live in New Zealand and because our seasons are different to yours I wonder if I can access blogs you wrote in your spring/summer season which is what we are approaching now in my country.
Oops! Just spotted your Archive section which answers my question.
Welcome to my blog. Glad you found what you needed. If you need any more help feel free to email me.
I love you site. Please take a look at my blog that I have written for women over 50. I would love to hear you comments and thoughts. Please leave a comment on the site. Thank you for the inspiration. It is called ‘Women After 50 – Simply a Work of Art’.
Hello from Canada; I have a 15 day Panama cruise coming up and wondered what to take. I prefer a 7-10 day cruise and just find this difficult as to how much to pack. Look forward to hearing from you.
Thank you for your comment. I will get back to you with some links.
Hello Josephine, quite a few of us have neck problems but would love to wear statement necklaces to dress up outfits. Ordinary jewellery is too heavy and causes pain/discomfort. Necklaces made of silk would be ideal – I have a friend with one bought in France but she doesn’t know who made it. I believe resin, too, can be very light to wear. I can’t find anything myself online, and I should be so grateful for your advice.
Thank you, Josephine. Love your blog, good wishes, Anna P
I have just had a look at Etsy, always a good source for fun jewellery. They do have some silk necklaces. They have such a wide range that it can take some time to find what you are looking for but worth it. They ship globally
Do see a podiatrist and have inserts made for your footwear; excellent value as you can move them to each pair you plan to wear.
I am a fan. Love how you share fresh ideas. (Lilac and navy–brilliant!) I am a writer/blogger from Texas. I would love to interview you and introduce your website to my readers. Could you please give me advice on finding jeans that fit an older body! Like many older women, I have some extra weight round the tummy area but slim hips and thighs. I find that most jeans that fit round the waist are too big on the hips. Help!
You and me both. I am on the case. I have the reverse problem in that I have a small waist to hip ratio and am having difficulty replacing my tried and trusted NYDJ jeans, they don’t seem to make the same style any more. When I have solved the problem I will do a post on the subject.
Great! Thanks, Josephine, can’t wait!
Packing lists are great. Showing the clothes is much user friendly .How do you cut and paste the single items of clothing.?
i am letting my grey hair grow! what hair styles do u recommend that best fit a head full of grey? I am only 33 and want to look youthful.
I am afraid that I am not a qualified hair stylist. A style that will suit you will depend on your face shape and hair texture. I suggest that you seek the advice of a good hairdresser in your area. I had a friend who had grey hair at your age and she looked stunning.
