Maxi dress with trousers

 maxi dress with trousers

Maxi dresses with trousers are like peaches and cream. In my opinion they naturally go together. I have been wearing dresses/tunics over trousers on and off for many years. For me they are the ideal combination. The trousers help to cover my legs (not the greatest aspect of my anatomy) and the dress covers my wider hips. This look is back in fashion. An added bonus as suitable dresses abound on the high street.

Here I am wearing a long cream and black stripe shirt dress by Mango. Teamed with a pair of cream cotton/linen crop trousers and long line cream tee Both by MeandEm.

How to wear maxi dress with trousers

I have kept my accessories simple as I felt that the maxi dress and trousers were the main event. I am wearing a straw panama hat and pointy toe sling back shoes by MarksandSpencer.

DRESSES AND TROUSERS:

If you are petite and want to try this look I would recommend keeping the trousers slim and the dress shorter. A tunic over trousers might be a better option.

I had such fun taking these photos with Julie of Jaf in the box. A fashion and lifestyle blog with a french flavour. They were shot at Isabella Plantation in Richmond Park. The azaleas were in full bloom and provided the perfect background.

Would never have thought of this combo for me, but it looks lovely on you. I think I’ll try this out, too. Thanks. 🙂

Not sure about this look, it’s looks a bit like pyjamas to me!

Great outfit and amazing lake reflections! I seem to get my timing wrong when I visit Richmond Park :-(.

Thank you for your comment Mary. The best time to visit Richmond Park is May if you want the Azaleas.
