HOW TO LAYER UP IN COSY KNITWEAR

HOW TO LAYER UP IN COSY KNITWEAR

I like to layer up in cosy knitwear at this time of year. As soon as I saw this gorgeous blue sweater on the Cos website I fell in love with it. This shade of blue is one of my favourite colours. As the winter progresses and the skies become dark and gloomy I feel more and more that I want to wear light bright colours and layer up are cosy knitwear.

This sweater style is ideal for layering as it has side slits and is more like a tunic. In the photo above I am wearing it over my Hush maxi dress. My blue suede court shoes are from Sole Bliss. You can see some of their other styles in my previous post.

In the second photo I am wearing my sweater over a black crew neck classic merino jumper and a pair of black leggings. I have added a pair of chunky lace-up boots by Gabor at JohnLewis&Partners.

Maybe you have similar items in your wardrobe. Have you ever thought of layering one sweater over another to keep warm. Maybe try this out when you go for your next brisk walk, provided it is not too windy or raining.

If the past year has taught us anything, it’s that the little things do make a difference, and our growing list of small actions can include dressing in something cheerful. This doesn’t mean you have to buy something new have a rummage in your wardrobe and experiment with new combinations. A comfortable, cosy outfit may just help to lift your mood. During the darkest and most dismal months like December, it’s going to be increasingly important to find outfits that bring joy.

Is there any particular outfit you like to wear that lifts your mood and brings you comfort?

Re layering. I’ve recently tried the silky roll neck from Kettlewell Colours. I wasn’t sure I would care for the high neck but its not in the least bit constricting. Its lovely for layering and is nice and cosy. Much needed for our Canadian winters. In fact I like it so much I’ve just ordered another three. Lots of colours to choose from.

      Hello Heather
When it is really cold I tend to add A HeatTech polo from Uniqlo under my sweaters

It’s a joy to see your smiling face and what you have found in your wardrobe and the shops to make us smile. Thank you Josephine for putting together such lovely ideas during these dismal times. For your encouragement and recipes too, a big thumbs up!

Hi Josephine- you look stunning in the photo with your new hairstyle and the blue sweater. That shade of blue and the pink you wore a few weeks ago are definitely your colours.

How much did you size down on the beautiful blue COS sweater? I know it’s supposed to be oversized, but….

      Hello Catharine
I bought a size small. I am normally a size 10 or 12 with narrow shoulders and wider hips. There is plenty of room around the hips. I Hope this helps.
