Exploring some of the delights of St.Tropez

After nearly a week back in the South of France we finally got round to visiting St. Tropez yesterday morning. When most of the summer crowds have gone St. Trop reverts back to vaguely resembling the quaint seaside resort that it originally was. That is if you explore the back streets and the authentic food markets nestling in among all the glitz and the designer shops, not to mention the enormous floating tax havens moored in the port.
A few pictures to give you a flavour of the quieter aspects of St. Trop with just one or two peeks into the more glitzy side of the village.

By far my favourite fish market tucked away behind the port of St. Tropez

The fish is so fresh – We bought a Dourade Royale for diner tonight. Yesterday it was probably swimming around in the Med.

I just love the name of this little boutique we discovered in one of the narrow back streets

Well there’s an entrepreneurial shop owner with this sign in the window

If this were true I might be tempted by some the offerings below. A girl can dream.

I would take both outfits in this window.

Followed by the bag and the boots

Or maybe a vintage Louis Vuitton from this shop. Where the wealthy ladies take their caste offs to be re-sold.

A St. Tropezienne of a certain age. Not sure about the yellow trousers (the shoes are yellow too) however somehow the whole outfit did work

Photo taken after a wedding in the local village church last Saturday. The navy shift dress was lovely. Also a good example IMHO of chic grey hair

More pictures next week I will need to get up earlier in the morning before the sun is too bright if I am to get any window shots without too much reflection from the glass.

I leave you will this Trompe d’Oeil. I did at first think that the cat was real! Maybe it is just an eyesight thing.

Thank you for reading. I really love to hear from you and appreciate the time you take to leave comments.

Love the chic gray hair and love the taupe/gray color combo — it’s not a combination I’ve seen often, and I like it!

Oh what a great post, I hope to go to St. Tropez one day. I loved the lady in yellow with that gorgeous canvas/barenia Birkin! Oh my! If you have a chance, do you want to join Adrienne and me for ‘How I Wear My: Burgundy and Bordeaux?’ You can send a picture to me of yourself in one of those fall shades (by Oct. 1). We’d love to have you join us. The post goes up Oct. 2 and I will link back to your blog.

Thank you for this mini-vacation! XO, Jill
