White linen trousers and blue silk top

How to team a blue silk print top with a pair of wide linen trousers. If you are a regular visitor to the blog you will have definitely guessed that blue is the colour I have chosen to work with this season. I like to team it with black, navy and grey. However my favourite combination is white, especially down here in France, it has a very nautical feel, as well as making my life a lot easier when it comes to choosing an outfit in a hurry.

My blue silk top is by Uniqlo (currently on sale reduced from £39.00 to £9.90). I have several other colours in this style. I find that the cream one is easy to pop under a classic jacket and the bright pink always manages to give me a lift.

Love the combination: just my style. The one thing I think we have to watch for is the “blousy” top and bottom: try to stay with blousy top and slimmer pants, or vice versa. What do you think? Or, is it just as we get older we have to watch for this?

Hi Libby I think in principal you are right it is best to team voluminous top with slim bottoms and vice versa. Personally I find the exception to be in the hot summer months or on holiday when I like an allover more relaxed look although, you do have to have some height to pull it off successfully.

I love this combo. The blue looks so fresh with the white. I can see why you’re working lots of it into your wardrobe!
    Have a great week.

This blouse would be beautiful if it did not have the longer back. I know that that feature has been “in fashion,” but to me it just looks sloppy (except on you). When do you think the longer-back style will have run its course?

Hi Leslie I quite like shirts/tops with longer backs I find it great for covering my bum but I agree it is a matter of personal taste.
