Packing for a trip to the Lake District

Packing for a trip to the Lake District

I am off tomorrow for five days in Penrith, Cumbria. As you can see from the photo The Lake District is one of the most beautiful areas of the UK. The scenery is stunning. I shall be relaxing, reading, going for long walks and practicing my photographic skills.

What to pack at this time of year is a real conundrum. The weather forecast is good but I never really trust weather predictions especially with regard to the North of England. So I’m making sure that I take my waterproofs.

I am basing my capsule collection on grey and blue. Grey will ground the look and take it gently into autumn and the blue will add a touch of the blue sky of summer.

The image above shows the basics. I will also be taking this grey sweater by Hopefashion (now reduced from £95 to £47.50), my long sleeve silk vest (just in case), a selection of T-shirts and my favourite jeans.

I find parkas so useful for travelling. Good selection of Parkas at John Lewis and Nordstrom.

Blue parka from John Lewis  //  Dog print rain hat John Lewis // Pale blue sweater by Jigsaw // Blue linen poncho by Jigsaw // Hunter wellingtons at John Lewis // Dark grey trousers by Jigsaw //Blue leather biker jacket by Jigsaw.
