Ideas for what to wear at this time of year

Ideas for what to wear at this time of year. I don’t know about you but I find it very difficult to know what to wear at this time of year. It is not as cold as it was but the skies are still quite grey here in London. I am feeling fairly bored with my tried and tested puffer coat. The only way I can zizz it up a bit is to add a colourful scarf. My two favourites are bright red and bright pink at the moment. At least they add a bit of colour near my face. I also like to add a hat or colourful beret.

Sticking to the basics is always a good idea. Jeans tend to be an everyday staple and if it is a bit chilly I add a pair of thin leggings, sometimes thermal for extra warmth.

Cardigans are also a spring staple. They work well under coats and then later over tee shirts and blouses. Cardigans are versatile and fit well into a winter to spring wardrobe. The French do the humble cardigan in a chic way. Check out Sezane for inspiration.

Plain tee shirts are another great way to add colour to a neutral outfit. I often layer mine. The other day I wore a soft lilac tee over a bright pink one.

Blazers are ideal for early Spring and hopefully the slightly warmer weather. See previous post for inspiration.

Lightweight coats can fit well into a Spring wardrobe. There are some lovely pale colours out there. I am eyeing up the one below.

MarksandSpencer have some good coats in stock at the moment.

Shirts are another all year round item to have in your wardrobe. You can layer them under sweaters or jackets and then wear them with your favourite trousers, skirts or jeans.

Camisoles are also a good option. They look great just peeking out of a v neck sweater or cardigan. They can be worn under a blazer or jacket. If you choose brightly coloured ones they add a pop of colour. Lily silk have a good selection. So do Uniqlo at more reasonable prices.

What other ideas do you have for bridging the seasonal gap. This will depend on what part of the world you live.

Love the pale blue coat but not very practical for driving nor indeed on public transport! You’re going to be a regular customer at the local dry cleaning shop.
