How to layer a maxi dress

How to layer a maxi dress. I am beginning to dream of summer and warmer weather. It is cold and rainy here in the UK at the moment so we have decided to take a short trip to Grimaud before I go into hospital for my hip replacement operation in April.

Details of above:

Blue/white striped sun hat John Lewis & Partners || Navy jersey maxi dress Meandem || Red cotton cardigan Boden || Straw French basket Etsy || Sunglasses Boden || Sarong/scarf Boden || Nuxe suncream MarksandSpencer || Black jewel sandals FitFlop.

The dress featured above is definitely in my small carry on case as the temperatures are predicted to be about 20 degrees. It is a really useful dress as you can dress it up or down. Add some sparkly jewelry and you can wear it in the evening. Alternatively pop it over a swimsuit to go to the beach.

Excellent tips and advice as usual Josephine. You’ve reminded me that I’ve got a similar navy maxi dress stored away somewhere. I must find it (and hope it still fits)!
Wishing you all the very best for your op in April and for a speedy recovery thereafter.

I bought a navy maxi dress when you showed the three different ways your lovely pink maxi dress could be worn. I have lots of shrugs, cardies, wraps, scarves , jackets etc but no denim. Now need larger colourful costume jewellery. All the best for your upcoming operation, Josephine. You’ll be doing the polka in a few months’ time!

Speedy recovery, Josephine. I will be in Port Grimaud in June if you are mobile by then? We can take it easy on the beach … Anthea
