Chambre d'hôte `le Bailli de Monsaugeon

Our journey through France and overnight stay. On our journey down to Grimaud we stopped overnight near Dijon. We chose to stay at Le Bailli de Montsaugeon (you can book via booking.com). The hosts were extremely welcoming and there were lots of nice little touches throughout. We had dinner and breakfast in the dining room which were both excellent.

We arrived at about 4 o’clock so had plenty of time to wander around and explore the ancient village of Montsaugeon. There are the remains of the ancient citadel wall built to protect the village from invasion by the Romans when Caesar invaded Gaul (France).

A similar linen blazer at Benetton and John Lewis and Boden. Navy linen trousers MarksandSpencer. They still have an excellent range to view click here.

We were able to take these photos in the front garden of our Chambre d’hôte.

Le Bailli de Montsaugeon

The charming garden

Montsaugeon, a picturesque village where its authentic character has been preserved, lies halfway between Burgundy and Champagne.

Besides the remains of an old castle on top of the hill, Montsaugeon has a church dating from the 12th and 13th centuries, an ancient keep, stately homes, and a beautiful fish pond. Just outside the village, you will find the vineyards where local quality wines are produced.

I just finished reading “A Winemaker’s Wife” by Kristen Hamel and seeing your pictures of the French vineyard brought the book to life. I envy your journey and appreciate seeing such gorgeous scenery on your blog. Enjoy!
