Spring colour combinations

A warm colour combination

Having reviewed the new Spring colours in my previous post I thought that today I would have a play with some Spring colour combinations. You may already have some of these colours in your wardrobe. Have you thought of introducing a new item in a colour that you might not have tried before? You may discover that it can jazz up your existing wardrobe. Accessories or a reasonably priced tee shirt or top is often the safest way to try out a new colour.

A cool colour combination

As I have grey hair and favour light bright cool colours the above collage is my favourite. I often combine purple and pink example here. I have also been known to wear pink and red example here.

Chicatanyage

I write a fashion and beauty blog for women over 50 with the aim of inspiring mature women to continue to enjoy and have fun with their fashion choices. I have spent most of my working life in some way connected to fashion. I started my career in Fashion PR and then trained as an Image Consultant when my children were young. I subsequently worked in the corporate world running seminars, doing private coaching and speaking at conferences. I started my blog in 2009 as I wanted to share my years of experience working in the world of fashion. I truly believe we can continue to have confidence in the way we present ourselves. Our style may evolve with time and changing lifestyles, yet with a little knowledge and inspiration, we can all continue to have fun with fashion. As women of a certain age we are a growing demographic let us prove that we can also be a chic one.

  • Thanks for the pretty warm spring color ideas, Josephine. For many years I thought I was a summer and finally was diagnosed as a spring and it's really true! But I still am so attracted to the summer colors. Not sure how grey hair is going to work with a spring palette if I stop coloring my hair. As always, love your pretty scarves!

  • Hi Francie I think that as we get older and definitely when our hair goes grey the colours that suit us definitely change. I used to be more a "summer" however now I find that as long as i choose light bright colours I can wear both warm and cool tones. I can now even take hight contrast such as black and white.
