How I style my new spring trench by Marks&Spencer (also available on US website). It is longer than some of the classic versions. I wanted a casual look so I have teamed it with my NYDJ jeans (UK and USA) and a grey roll neck sweater by MeandEm (similar from their current range).
I had such fun taking these photos with Julie of Jafinthebox. They were shot in my local village in South West London. The photo above was taken in front of the iconic Olympic Studios (now converted to a cinema). It has a fascinating history. It was originally built in 1906 as an entertainment hall. During the 1960s it became a sound recording studio. Many of the famous bands of the day recorded there including The Rolling Stones.
I like the fact that this trench is single breasted. In my opinion easier to wear and more slimming than the classic double breasted styles. I have styled the coat casually, leaving it open and adding a slim brown belt. I took my inspiration from my previous post on french style trench coats.
I love this house in the centre of our village. Unfortunately I don’t own it!
I like the attention to detail. Large easy to close poppers, storm flaps deep pockets.

I love that trench coat on you. You're right about double-breasted coats; I bought a double-breasted trench coat - fortunately in a charity shops - but it didn't look good on me. I looked like some kind of military/prison officer - not a good look on me.

Yes they can look a bit military and stiff. Maybe give it back to the charity shop and they can raise more money on it.
Love the snaps i.e. poppers! My new winter coat has those and what a pleasure, and so easy, to do. Enjoy your week in the South!

Have checked both the link you attached and the one on the blog post for the M&S trench and they both seem to work. It took me to the french site as I am in France but should not make a difference when ticked ship to Uk it took me back to UK site.
Anybody else having problems?
If anybody else is having problems with the M&S link I have put the trench coat in my sidebar and that definitely works.
This trench looks great on you and I totally agree about the single breasted option. I am glad I am not alone in not liking the double breasted style of coat on me.
I like this trench coat apart from the style of pockets. I prefer the side type slip in pockets.
I sort of agree about the pockets. These ones sit quite flat as long as I don't put too much in them.
I wear my trench proudly.

I am an older New Yorker who needs some shopping help. My husband and I will be in London in September.
I want to buy a good quality, lining classic trench coat or rain coat with a warm removable liner. It is virtually impossible to find them here.
I would greatly appreciate any suggestions.

I used to have a great trench coat with a detachable lining some years ago. Very useful .
I have had a search and can't seem to find one anywhere except at Burberry and very expensive. You could try John Lewis in Oxford street.
I use layers under my coats for extra warmth. Like a long sleeveless waistcoat, one of the new style cardicoats in a fine wool. If you want something wry warm a light Uniqlo padded long jacket might do.
