How I style white jeans

#NSale #jeans #colourHow I style white jeans

Last week I featured a post showing how I styled my white jeans with a pop of bright pink.  This week I thought I would show you the same pair of jeans teamed with a soft summer colour.

This time I am wearing them with a turquoise/cream three quarter length coat. I find this length very useful and flattering. It covers the bum and adheres to the two thirds rule.

A white clutch bag, strappy white sandals and pearl necklace completes the look.

The coat that I am wearing is a couple of years old originally from MandS. Shoes and bag also some years old.

lovely outfit. My Texas lifestyle is much more casual and my white jeans are usually topped w/a shirt or tunic.

How lovely and elegant. I love the jacket, also loved the last look with a pop of colour.

Beautiful colors with your hair. You really do a fine job dressing yourself and offering advice. I’m glad I found your site!

Very flattering on you. Please could you explain the two thirds rule? Thanks.

      Hi Jane

The rule of thirds is used a lot in design and photography to create harmonious proportions and works just as well when putting an outfit together.

How you use it will depend on your height and figure shape. In the photo I have 2/3 for the coat and 1/3 for the trousers which works as I am reasonably tall. If for example you are wearing wide trousers you might want to team it with a short jacket. It is all about creating pleasing proportions. You might like to experiment with a skirt or trousers and different length tops to see which proportion works best for you. If you draw a line in the middle of your body this can often look a bit square.
