Puffa jackets and fake fur

Grey puffa + fake fur scarf 3

Puffa jacket with fur scarf

I think this is probably my ideal colour combination for a crisp winters day. Black trousers, grey puffa coat and white top, with a touch of colour provided by the bright blue fake fur snood.

I have had this Armani jeans puffa coat for many years and it has served me well. I tend to buy the best quality I can afford at the time with most of my major coat purchases being made during the sales and the above coat was no exception. Now is a great time to invest in a good quality coat as there are still many months of cold weather to come.

Do you wear real or fake fur. I am a fan of fake fur, it is great fun and can often be found in vibrant colours. I am aware that here in the South of France, when at times there can be a bitterly cold wind, the women are very fond of real fur usually fox or rabbit. I know that in London wearing real fur is definitely a no-no however when I visited Latvia a few years ago every other woman was wrapped up against the Syberian cold in real fur. Who am I to judge?

There are some great puffa coats/jackets and fake fur snoods available in the sales.

Nordstrom have a wide range of puffa coats many at reduced prices
They also have some excellent faux fur snoods

John Lewis  have a few quilted coats left in the sale.

Uniqlo have some excellent down coats and they are all reduced.

That blue is just dynamite on you. I’ve been combing the sales for a not-too-heavy-for-LA winter coat. That is one of the sleekest looking puffa’s I’ve yet seen; the quality makes a difference!

You look great in your puffer coat. I have some extra girth around my middle and I look like the “Stay-Puff” marshmallow man in a puffer.

I hope for a real crisp winter day you’ll also be wearing ankle boots and some warm socks!
I love the fake furs these days, I have an animal print jacket that I’ve worn for a few years now, it due to be replaced. But a lot of people stop me to ask where I got it, it looks so nice. But, if I lived any further north, I would have a real fur, they’re much warmer.

Hi Rita I thought someone might spot the shoes. The weather has been so dull and dreary both in London and France that it has been difficult to get any decent photos. So with a ray of sun I dashed out to take advantage of the light.

‘Somehow’ I have managed to collect 3 light down jackets for this winter! All quality brands at ridiculous low prices at TKMaxx. A full length navy, a three quarter cream and a steel grey full length. Also bought a short blue and black subtle check one for my daughter…so there’s another place for your readers to look!

Hi Pam You are quite right I find TKMaxx great for coats and sweaters not to mention homewear. It is a bit tricky to feature on the blog as it really is pot luck as to what you find there and the good stuff seems sell out quite quickly. Luckily I have a store quite near me and often pop in on the off chance.
